We were in Rotorua unfortunately for my mum's funeral. We needed 4 rooms for my siblings and their partners and kids and myself and kids and for my dad. They were very accommodating in trying to have us all as close as possible to each other. They found out we were there for my mum's funeral and they went above and beyond to help us out with anything we needed or to make it as comfortable and easy as possible for our stay there. Helped us with printing, getting us a breakfast table, opening the bar earlier, helping us out with the kids and sending us flowers and a lovely note to our room! Amazing service, thankyou so much Sudima! It meant so much.

We visited Rotorua four times in 2023 and we stayed at Sudima every time. It’s in a great location, close to everything and easy to find on Maps.

Staff were amazingly friendly, and ready to help. We got a free room upgrade on arrival - thank you. The gent in charge of breakfast allowed me to grab a free croissant from the buffet, even though I had a very delicious À la carte order. Nothing was too much problem for the very friendly and attentive staff.

Location was good, close to the city and the Polynesian Spa. Comfortable beds if you like soft but not too soft, and the usual basic amenities were available like tea/coffee. Car park was a very short walk away from the building, but not directly outside your doorstep/within the complex if that's what you're looking for. Would like to see the bathroom get an adjustable height shower head, as the fixed height one is just a little low to wash your hair without stooping if you're six feet tall - but it's perfectly usable otherwise. Checking in and checking out was easy. The staff seemed friendly and we didn't need to call on them for anything. We opted not to have our room serviced for a short stay of three days so didn't need new towels etc, but did find the room pristine and clean upon arrival.

Very nice hotel at honest price. We were very happy. Large room. Strong air con. Good wifi. Everything clean and good repair. Great breakfast buffet with cappuccino machines. Excellent location on the lake. Guest laundry is all free washer, dryer, and soap. Great opportunity to catch up with dirty clothes. Rotorua is an amazing area with lots to see. We had 5 nights here and could have spent a week or more without running out of activities.

I’m surprised this property doesn’t have a higher rating. yes, some parts are a little dated but they are working on some renos, and I’m sure once they’re done the price will be much higher. staff were friendly, front desk, housekeeping and maintenance even the contractors working around were all very friendly. maybe that’s just New Zealanders in general. we made good use of the heated pool and laundry facilities. one day the pool was being cleaned so we popped across the road to use the Polynesian Spa, which was pretty affordable and a great spot. Close to all restaurants and shops. I would recommend this place to anyone! Some folks commented on the renovations in their reviews, but it seems like they were working on certain sections that were not rented out to guests and were well out of the way and didn’t cause any disturbances.

Hangi, breakfast & dinner were exceptional. The room was very good. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The warm pool was enjoyable.

I was in Room 112 - it was comfortable, neat and tidy. I ordered room service which was affordable and delicious. I loved that the laundry was free, however, I wish it was open longer.
